SLOVENIA'S HIDDEN GEMS 2018
Radio Si promotes hidden tourist gems, representing diverse Slovenian regions, from Prekmurje to Primorska region. Often overlooked, yet still impressive places a tourist visiting Slovenia should visit are exposed in the project Slovenia's hidden gems 2018. One such attractive gem was uncovered in the Municipality of Dobrova-Polhov Gradec. Delights of Count Blagaj’s Land is a tourist package designed in 2016 for all culinary enthusiasts. The experience of the finest culinary products in Count Blagaj’s land takes you to Šentjošt’s cheese dairy Orešnik, restaurant Grič where chef Luka Košir prepares exquisite meals using only local products, and to Polhov Gradec. A visit to Božnar House of Honey offers a tasting of honey and honey products. The experience concludes in the Polhov Gradec Mansion and Count Blagaj and his wife’s invitation to a tea party.
In the green and hilly suburbs of Ljubljana we connected the unique local stories into a bundle – a bundle of goodies from Blagaj’s land. Goodies and experiences you get when you visit the locals. You can simply enjoy the unspoiled nature or go hiking. Count Blagaj’s land truly offers a lot.
This tourist package was chosen as one of the 18 finalists in the Slovenia's hidden gems 2018 campaign. On 5 December 2018 we received a certificate of recognition.
