From Polhov Gradec, head in the direction of the village of Črni Vrh and turn right towards the valley of the Petačev graben brook. From there, climb to the top of the Smolnik hill and continue to the village of Črni Vrh. Next to a roadside shrine above the Košir farm take the path to the top of the hill.
